Nigerian striker Gift Orban has officially completed a season-long loan move from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim to newly promoted Turkish Süper Lig club Amedspor, ending weeks of speculation over his future.
The 24-year-old arrives in Turkey after spending the 2025/26 season on loan at Italian club Hellas Verona, where he scored seven goals and provided multiple assists in 29 league appearances. Despite his individual contributions, Verona were unable to avoid relegation from Serie A.
After returning to Hoffenheim, it became increasingly clear that the German club did not see Orban as part of their immediate plans, even though his contract remains valid until 2029. Amedspor have now provided the Nigerian forward with an opportunity to relaunch his career in Turkey’s top division.
The move is regarded as one of Amedspor’s biggest signings since securing promotion to the Turkish Süper Lig, with the club hoping the former Gent striker can rediscover the form that made him one of Europe’s most sought-after young forwards.
Financial Details Behind Gift Orban’s Transfer to Amedspor
According to reports, the agreement between Hoffenheim and Amedspor is a season-long loan deal that includes an optional €4 million purchase clause.
The option gives Amedspor the right—but not the obligation—to sign Orban permanently at the end of the campaign if they are satisfied with his performances.
As part of the agreement, Amedspor will pay a €1 million loan fee while also taking full responsibility for the striker’s wages throughout the season.
Salary figures reported by Capology indicate that Orban has agreed to a slight reduction in pay to facilitate the move. The Nigerian forward is expected to earn a base annual salary of €750,000, with the possibility of receiving an additional €190,000 in performance-related bonuses.
His basic earnings translate to roughly €14,400 per week before bonuses, making him one of the highest-paid players in the Amedspor squad.
Should Amedspor activate the purchase option next summer, Hoffenheim would reportedly accept a financial loss on the player after signing him for around €9 million following his impressive spell in France.
