Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu has finished the 2025/26 Turkish Super Lig season as joint top scorer after an outstanding campaign with Trabzonspor.
The towering Super Eagles forward ended the season with 22 league goals, sharing the Golden Boot honour with İstanbul Başakşehir striker Eldor Shomurodov.
Onuachu’s achievement is even more remarkable considering the level of competition in the Turkish top flight this season, where he finished ahead of several high-profile attacking stars including fellow Nigerian international Victor Osimhen.
The 31-year-old striker was one of Trabzonspor’s most consistent performers throughout the campaign, using his aerial dominance, intelligent movement and clinical finishing to deliver goals in crucial moments for the club. His performances played a major role in Trabzonspor’s attacking success across the season.
According to league statistics, Onuachu finished the campaign with 22 goals in 30 league appearances — one of the best scoring ratios in the division.
The former Genk striker has now added another major individual honour to a career that has already seen him win league titles in Denmark and Belgium while also claiming the Belgian Golden Bull award during his prolific spell at Genk.
Onuachu returned permanently to Trabzonspor in 2025 after previously enjoying a successful loan spell at the Turkish club, and his impact since rejoining has immediately justified the club’s decision.
The Nigeria Football Federation also publicly celebrated the striker’s achievement, praising his consistency and influence in front of goal throughout the season.
With the new season approaching and his confidence growing, Onuachu’s form could also provide a major boost for Nigeria ahead of upcoming international competitions as the Super Eagles continue to build around experienced attacking options.
