Nigeria’s Super Falcons will head into the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) wearing a newly designed jersey that celebrates the team’s remarkable success on the African continent.
The special kit features 10 stars, with each star representing one of Nigeria’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations triumphs. The Super Falcons remain the most successful team in the history of the competition and will be aiming to add an 11th title during this year’s tournament in Morocco.
Fans got their first glimpse of the commemorative jersey when the Super Falcons defeated Tanzania’s Twiga Stars 2-1 in an international friendly on Thursday. The match also served as part of the team’s preparations ahead of the continental championship.
Head coach Justin Madugu and his squad now shift their attention to the defence of their African crown as WAFCON 2026 gets underway.
Nigeria will begin their campaign against tournament debutants Malawi, also known as the Scorchers, at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat on Tuesday. A positive result would provide the ideal start for the defending champions as they seek to extend their record as Africa’s most successful women’s national team.
