Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has reportedly become the subject of a disciplinary issue at Wolverhampton Wanderers following an incident during the club’s pre-season preparations.
According to reports from journalist Nathan Judah, Wolves were forced to cancel a training session after the Nigerian forward allegedly refused to leave the pitch when instructed by members of the coaching staff not to participate in first-team training.
The situation reportedly escalated before head coach César Peixoto intervened in an effort to calm tensions. Reports also claim that Wolverhampton increased security around the training ground the following day to prevent further disruption.
As a result, Arokodare is expected to miss Wolves’ upcoming pre-season friendly against Maidenhead United, while disciplinary action could also follow if the club decides to pursue the matter. However, Wolverhampton have not publicly confirmed any disciplinary measures.
The 25-year-old joined Wolves from Belgian side Genk in a deal reportedly worth €26 million and endured a mixed first season in England, registering six goals in 38 appearances across all competitions.
Despite his challenges at Molineux, Arokodare continues to attract transfer interest ahead of the new campaign. Reports have linked the Nigerian international with Italian clubs Genoa and Fiorentina, while Turkish outfit Trabzonspor are also said to be monitoring his situation.
With the summer transfer window still open, attention will now turn to whether Wolves retain the striker or decide to sanction a move elsewhere following the reported training ground incident.
