Sporting Lagos remain favourites ahead of explosive final day showdown at Remo Stars Stadium.

The Nigeria National League (NNL) has confirmed that both Matchday Three fixtures of the ongoing Super-4 tournament will kick off simultaneously at 3pm on Friday in Ikenne, Ogun State, as organisers intensify efforts to guarantee fairness and preserve the integrity of the competition.
The decisive fixtures will see Sporting Lagos face city rivals Inter Lagos in a potentially explosive Lagos derby at the main bowl of the Remo Stars Stadium, while Doma United will battle Ranchers Bees at the adjoining arena.
The decision for simultaneous kick-offs comes with the title race still mathematically open among three teams heading into the final round of games.
Sporting Lagos currently top the standings with three points and a superior goal difference after thrashing Doma United 4-0 in their second match of the tournament. Inter Lagos also have three points but trail behind on goal difference, while Doma United still maintain slim hopes of snatching the title if results swing heavily in their favour.
NNL Chief Operating Officer Danlami Alanana explained that the league body decided on simultaneous kick-offs to avoid any possibility of match compromise or manipulation on the final day.
According to Alanana, organisers are also planning several side attractions, including live entertainment and award presentations, to ensure fans enjoy a memorable finale to the 2025/2026 NNL season.
The Super-4 tournament, staged at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, features the four clubs that secured promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at the end of the regular NNL campaign — Sporting Lagos, Inter Lagos, Doma United and Ranchers Bees.
This year’s edition has generated strong attention among Nigerian football fans, especially with the rise of privately-owned clubs such as Sporting Lagos and Inter Lagos, whose rapid development continues to reshape conversations around club football administration in Nigeria.
The eventual winners of the Super-4 tournament will receive a ₦10 million prize, while the remaining participating clubs will earn ₦2 million each.
With promotion to the NPFL already secured for all four clubs, attention has now shifted fully toward who will emerge overall champions of the Nigeria National League.
