Nigerian striker scores twice as Atletico Madrid ease to a convincing pre-season victory.

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman continued his impressive run in Atletico Madrid colours after scoring twice in the club’s convincing 4-1 victory over Getafe in a pre-season friendly.
The Nigerian international was the standout performer during the opening half, helping Diego Simeone’s men establish control before the interval with two well-taken goals.
Lookman wasted little time making his mark, opening the scoring in the fifth minute after reacting quickest to a loose ball inside the penalty area to convert from close range.
The 28-year-old doubled Atletico Madrid’s advantage in the 35th minute, finishing confidently after a slick attacking move to register his second goal of the evening.
Getafe responded before halftime through Alvaro Gutierrez, who reduced the deficit and ensured his side remained in the contest heading into the break.
However, Atletico Madrid regained full control after the restart.
Goals from Arnau Ortiz and Obed Vargas completed the scoring as Simeone’s side wrapped up an impressive performance against their fellow La Liga opponents.
Lookman Building Momentum Ahead of New Season

The brace continues Lookman’s encouraging start to life in Madrid following his move from Italian side Atalanta.
The Nigerian attacker made a significant impact during the second half of last season, scoring six goals in 17 appearances across all competitions after arriving at the club.
Despite speculation linking him with a possible move away during the summer transfer window, reports indicate Atletico Madrid have no intention of parting with the former African Footballer of the Year.
His latest display is likely to strengthen his position within Simeone’s plans as Atletico prepare for the start of the 2026/27 La Liga season.
For Nigerian football fans, Lookman’s performance is another positive sign as one of the Super Eagles’ leading attackers continues to impress at one of Spain’s biggest clubs.
