Nigerian talents David Moses and Aribim Pepple delivered decisive performances for their respective clubs, scoring match-winning goals in league action to underline their growing influence abroad.

Both players played key roles for their teams over the weekend, continuing the trend of Nigerian footballers making headlines across Europe.

Moses Seals Comeback Victory for Slavia Prague

In the Czech First League, Slavia Prague staged a comeback to defeat Sigma Olomouc 2-1 in their final regular season fixture.

After falling behind early in the game, Slavia Prague responded strongly in the second half, with Mojmír Chytil restoring parity before Moses stepped up late on.

The Nigerian midfielder struck the decisive goal in the 82nd minute, securing all three points for his side and ensuring they head into the playoffs with an eight-point cushion.

The goal marked Moses’ first since April 2025, highlighting a timely return to scoring form as the title race intensifies.

Pepple Hits Brace to Power Plymouth Argyle

Meanwhile in England, Plymouth Argyle forward Pepple was the hero in his side’s 2-1 win over Port Vale.

The 23-year-old striker opened the scoring just three minutes into the match with a composed first-time finish. Although Port Vale equalised shortly after, Pepple restored his team’s lead early in the second half with a calm and precise strike that proved to be the winner.

Pepple’s brace takes his tally to an impressive 16 goals and two assists in 34 league appearances this season, underlining his consistency in front of goal.

Rising Nigerian Influence Across Europe

Moses, a young midfielder developing his career in the Czech Republic, continues to grow in stature since joining Slavia Prague, one of the country’s top clubs.

Pepple, born in England and of Nigerian descent, has also been attracting attention with his performances in England’s lower leagues, where he has emerged as a reliable goal scorer.

The performances of both players highlight the depth of Nigerian talent making an impact across different European leagues. With consistent performances at club level, players like Moses and Pepple remain on the radar as Nigeria continues to monitor talents in the diaspora for future opportunities at international level.
