The Nigerian striker continued his rich scoring form in FC Midtjylland’s 4-1 victory over Odense BK ahead of the 2026/27 Danish Superliga season.

Nigerian striker Friday Etim maintained his excellent scoring run by grabbing two goals as FC Midtjylland wrapped up their preseason preparations with a commanding 4-1 victory over Odense BK at the MCH Arena.
The summer signing, who completed a move from FC Fredericia earlier this transfer window, once again demonstrated his eye for goal as Midtjylland rounded off their build-up to the 2026/27 Danish Superliga season with an impressive performance.
Etim made his mark before halftime, scoring twice to put the home side firmly in control after an entertaining opening period.
Midtjylland had taken an early lead through Franculino Djú, but Adam Sørensen restored parity for Odense BK. The Nigerian forward quickly swung the momentum back in favour of the hosts, calmly finishing inside the penalty area before adding his second shortly afterwards with a composed strike beyond goalkeeper Martin Hansen.
The home side remained in control throughout the second half and completed the victory late in the game when South Korean attacker Cho Gue-sung converted from the penalty spot to seal a comprehensive 4-1 win.
The latest performance means Etim has now produced back-to-back braces during preseason, further highlighting his impressive adaptation since joining FC Midtjylland.
The 24-year-old had previously scored twice in Midtjylland’s emphatic 6-0 victory over Cardiff City, reinforcing his status as one of the club’s standout performers during preseason.
With the new Danish Superliga campaign fast approaching, the Lagos-born striker will be aiming to transfer his outstanding preseason form into competitive matches and justify the club’s faith following his move to MCH Arena.
