Millwall winger Femi Azeez delivered a standout performance as Millwall F.C. secured an impressive 2-0 victory away to Middlesbrough F.C. in the fiercely competitive EFL Championship. The 24-year-old attacker was widely regarded as the most influential player on the pitch, consistently stretching the Middlesbrough defense with his pace, creativity and direct running from wide areas. His ability to beat defenders and deliver dangerous balls into the box helped Millwall maintain attacking pressure throughout the match and played a key role in the visitors’ decisive win.

Azeez’s performance was another highlight in what has been a highly productive season for the winger. The London-born forward has been one of Millwall’s key attacking figures, contributing eight goals and seven assists in the 2025-26 Championship campaign while logging over 2,000 minutes of action for the club.   His consistent displays earned him the EFL Championship Player of the Month award for February 2026, underlining his growing importance to the Lions as they push toward the promotion places.

Born in England to a Nigerian father and Spanish mother, Azeez is eligible to represent the Nigeria national football team, and his recent form has inevitably sparked discussions about a possible Super Eagles call-up. Nigeria’s national team is currently undergoing a gradual rebuild with an emphasis on dynamic attackers capable of operating in multiple positions. Azeez’s ability to play on either flank, run at defenders, and contribute both goals and assists makes him a profile that could add depth and unpredictability to the national team’s forward line.

If given the opportunity, Azeez could provide the Super Eagles with a different attacking dimension. His Championship experience has honed his physicality and work rate, while his dribbling ability and willingness to take on defenders suit Nigeria’s traditionally fast-paced attacking style. As the Super Eagles look to refresh their squad ahead of future international competitions, the Millwall star’s continued performances may soon make a compelling case for his inclusion on the international stage.
