34 goals scored in action-packed round of fixtures

Enyimba strengthened their fight against relegation with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Abia Warriors in Aba, as Matchday 32 of the Nigeria Premier Football League delivered thrilling action and a flurry of goals across the country.

The People’s Elephant left it late to secure maximum points in front of their home supporters. After a tightly contested first half, Chidiebere Micheal broke the deadlock in the 60th minute to give Enyimba the advantage.

However, the visitors responded late in the game when Emeka Obioma struck in the 88th minute, seemingly rescuing a point for Abia Warriors. But Enyimba had the final say, as Micheal calmly converted a penalty deep into stoppage time to seal a crucial win.

Speaking after the match, assistant coach Ijeh Okechukwu praised his side’s resilience, highlighting the importance of the result while admitting there is still room for improvement in front of goal.

The victory lifts Enyimba to 15th position on the table with 39 points, giving them breathing space in the relegation battle. Abia Warriors, on the other hand, slipped to sixth place with 49 points.

Shooting Stars Shine in Ibadan

In Ibadan, Shooting Stars continued their impressive home run with a convincing 3-1 win over Enugu Rangers.

After a goalless first half, Sodiq Ibrahim opened scoring shortly after the restart. Rangers responded through captain Chidiebere Nwobodo, but the hosts quickly regained control of the contest.

Desmond Ojietefisan restored Shooting Stars’ lead before substitute Adams Mustapha wrapped up the victory with a late goal. The Oluyole Warriors have now recorded seven consecutive home wins and move up to fifth place with 50 points.

Elsewhere, Rivers United kept their title ambitions alive with an entertaining 4-2 win against Kun Khalifat, while Bayelsa United cruised to a dominant 4-1 victory over Kano Pillars.

Fans were treated to one of the most exciting fixtures of the round as Ikorodu City edged Warri Wolves 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller. Niger Tornadoes secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Wikki Tourists, while Remo Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by El-Kanemi Warriors. Barau FC and Katsina United played out a goalless stalemate in a tightly fought encounter.
