As Kwara beat Remo Stars 3-1, Bendel Insurance are pegged back by Warri Wolves in intriguing results day.

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) lit up again this weekend and Matchday 11 was anything but predictable. From Kwara United’s ruthless 3–1 demolition of Remo Stars to Warri Wolves’ dogged draw against Bendel Insurance in Benin, Nigerian football fans were treated to a rollercoaster of passion, power and surprises.

In Ilorin, it was Kwara United who grabbed the headlines. Facing a Remo Stars side fancied as title contenders, the Harmony Boys delivered one of their most complete performances of the season. Two early goals rattled the visitors before halftime, and though Remo Stars tried to rally after the break, the damage was already done.

“We came with a plan and executed it perfectly,” a confident Kwara United coach – Ashifat Suleiman told reporters after the match. “This is the football we’ve been working towards.”

Insurance Held by Wolves

Elsewhere in Benin City, Bendel Insurance were left frustrated after Warri Wolves forced a 1–1 draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. The result halted Insurance’s momentum and reminded fans that no game in the NPFL comes easy.

Insurance took an early lead, controlling possession and dictating the tempo, but Wolves recently promoted and fighting for survival; refused to back down. Their late equaliser silenced the home crowd and earned a valuable point on the road.

The draw leaves Bendel Insurance in a tight spot as they look to keep pace with the league leaders. For Wolves, however, the draw feels like a victory; proof that resilience still counts in the NPFL.
