Trencín looks ahead, signing two 19-year-old wingers in preparation for Suleiman’s probable departure.

Slovak First Football League club AS Trencín is reportedly on the verge of finalizing the signings of two highly rated Nigerian wingers; Nentaka Dembele Bangs and John Danga in what looks like a strategic move anticipating the exit of young Flying Eagles star Sani Suleiman.
Both Bangs and Danga are products of GBS Academy, a powerhouse in Nigerian football development, which has previously produced talents like Moses Simon, Ahmed Musa, and Samuel Kalu. The fact that Trencín is turning to the same academy suggests a conscious effort to replicate past success with Nigerian wingers.
The Deal: What We Know
According to reports, Bangs and Danga both 19 years old; have agreed to three-year contracts, which were signed on 21 November 2025, though the club is yet to issue a formal public announcement. Bangs had previously been invited to Nigeria’s U20 national team but couldn’t join due to club commitments.
The timing of these signings is significant. Trencín appears to be preparing for life without Sani Suleiman, who has drawn strong interest from European clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Bayer Leverkusen, and Rangers.
Suleiman has been in exceptional form for Trencín: in just ten appearances across competitions this season, he’s been directly involved in seven goals (3 goals, 4 assists). Add to that his performances at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, and it’s clear why his potential exit is a real concern for the club.
By bringing in Bangs and Danga, Trencín seems to be creating a succession plan onboarding two young wingers who could grow into key roles if and when Suleiman moves on.
Risks and Challenges
Pressure to Deliver: Filling in for Suleiman, who has been remarkably productive, is no small feat. Bangs and Danga will face high expectations.
Adaptation: Transitioning from Nigeria to Europe always carries risks — adaptation (cultural, tactical) could influence how fast they settle.
Suleiman’s Exit Not Confirmed: While reports suggest his departure is “inevitable,” nothing is officially sealed yet. If he stays, competition could be stiff.
