Nigeria’s world record holder seals her place in Brussels after another impressive hurdles campaign.

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has officially qualified for the 2026 Wanda Diamond League Final after delivering a series of impressive performances in the women’s 100m hurdles throughout the season.
The world record holder secured her place in the season-ending championship by collecting 28 points from five Diamond League meetings, ensuring qualification for the final scheduled to take place in Brussels, Belgium, on September 4 and 5.
Tobi Amusan currently occupies second place in the 2026 Diamond League women’s 100m hurdles standings, trailing only American athlete Masai Russell, who leads the rankings with 32 points.
Although qualification has already been confirmed, both athletes still have opportunities to improve their standings with races remaining in London, Lausanne, Silesia, and Zurich before the final in Brussels.
Russell enters the closing stages of the season with the fastest women’s 100m hurdles time of the year, having clocked 12.14 seconds, while Amusan’s best performance this season stands at 12.28 seconds, a time she has matched on three occasions.
The 2026 Wanda Diamond League Final in Brussels is expected to provide another exciting chapter in the growing rivalry between Amusan and Russell as they battle for the prestigious title.
Amusan will also be chasing history by attempting to win a fourth Diamond League title, having previously dominated the competition with three consecutive victories from 2021 to 2023.
The Nigerian star remains the world record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, thanks to the remarkable 12.12-second performance she produced during her historic triumph at the World Championships in Eugene four years ago.
With her place in Brussels now confirmed, Tobi Amusan will be hoping to maintain her impressive form ahead of the 2026 Diamond League Final and challenge for another major international title.
