Super Eagles striker says returning to school remains one of his biggest personal ambitions.

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has disclosed that one of his biggest ambitions after retiring from professional football is to return to the classroom and obtain a university degree.

The Galatasaray forward made the revelation during an interview with Instablog TV, where he spoke about the importance of education and the valuable lessons he has gained both inside and outside the classroom.

According to Osimhen, while formal education played a role in shaping his early years, many of life’s most important experiences have come through his personal journey and career as a professional footballer.

“As an adult, not everything I learned in school. There are some kinds of life lessons you encounter through life’s journey,” the Nigerian international said.

Speaking about life after football, the 27-year-old noted that a professional football career is relatively short, making it essential for players to prepare for the future beyond their playing days.

Osimhen explained that he hopes to return to school and earn a university degree after retiring from football, describing the achievement as something he continues to consider despite his busy football schedule.

“For me, it would be an amazing thing to also try to get a degree, which I’m still considering because football, you won’t play for so long, probably 20, 25 years, and then you’re done,” he said.

The former African Footballer of the Year also believes that pursuing higher education would send a positive message to younger people, especially those who may have been forced to abandon their studies because of financial difficulties or other personal challenges.

While acknowledging that he already has several opportunities to rely on after retirement, Osimhen stressed that obtaining a degree would be about setting a positive example rather than necessity.

“In as much as I have a lot of things to fall back to when I’m done, I think it’s still important for me to set an example, to set a standard for the younger generation,” he added.

The Super Eagles star further encouraged anyone who had to suspend their education not to give up on their academic dreams.

“Even though you dropped out due to some kind of challenges you have, it’s something you can always go back to. School is always there,” Osimhen said.

Although the Nigerian striker did not disclose when he plans to begin his studies or which course he intends to pursue, Victor Osimhen’s desire to return to school and earn a university degree after football has attracted widespread praise from fans, many of whom have applauded his commitment to education and lifelong learning.
