Nasarawa United produced one of the standout performances of the weekend in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), claiming a 2–1 away victory over Abia Warriors in Umuahia to headline a thrilling round of fixtures across the country.
Abia Warriors struck first shortly before half-time through Emeka Obioma, who found the net in the 42nd minute to put the hosts ahead. However, Nasarawa United showed resilience after the break, responding with purpose and intensity.
Just two minutes into the second half, Habibu Alakija drew Nasarawa United level before JoFrank Istifanus completed the comeback with a well-taken goal in the 55th minute, sealing a valuable three points on the road.
In Maiduguri, El-Kanemi Warriors left it late but secured a vital 1–0 home win over Ikorodu City. The decisive moment came in the 89th minute when Muktar Ismail struck to hand the hosts maximum points.
At the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) continued their solid home form with a 1–0 victory against Bendel Insurance. Qamar Adegoke’s 71st-minute strike proved decisive as the Oluyole Warriors held on for the win.
Meanwhile, Wikki Tourists returned to winning ways at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, defeating Kano Pillars 2–0. Taheer Abubakar opened the scoring in the 43rd minute before Klinshak Longbak sealed the result with a second goal in the 65th minute.
Fans in Enugu were treated to a goal-fest as Rangers International defeated Wolves 4–2 in a six-goal thriller. Godwin Obaje put Rangers firmly in control with goals in the 1st and 11th minutes, while Chimobi Igwilo added a brace late on in the 71st and 76th minutes.
Wolves responded through Israel Oladeji and a stoppage-time penalty converted by Seth Mayi, but the fightback was not enough to deny Rangers all three points.
Elsewhere, Niger Tornadoes recorded a comfortable 2–0 home victory over Enyimba, with Abdulrasheed Shehu Dabai opening the scoring in the 66th minute before Rickson Mendos added a late second goal.
In Kano, Barau FC and Bayelsa United played out a 1–1 draw. Ettah Ikoi gave Bayelsa United the lead in the 29th minute, but Yahaya Ibrahim restored parity from the penalty spot six minutes later.
The latest results continue to shape the NPFL table as clubs intensify their push for continental qualification and survival heading deeper into the season.
