Nigeria’s Sunday Adetunji is proving unstoppable in front of goal this season, with yet another decisive strike for Sudanese giants Al-Hilal SC as they stormed into the second stage of the CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Adetunji, fondly called “Goal na Water” by fans for his natural scoring instinct, was on the scoresheet in Al-Hilal’s 3–1 victory over South Sudan’s Kator FC, joining teammates Cole and Akiri in a comfortable win that sealed progression.

Since arriving in Omdurman, the powerful forward has been a constant menace to opposition defences, combining sharp movement, strength, and clinical finishing. This season alone, Adetunji has carried over his hot form from Kosovo with 22 goals and 7 assists in 38 matches for Ballkani, including 4 goals in European competitions, before switching to Al-Hilal. His impact has already been felt in Sudan, where he continues to score freely in domestic and continental fixtures.

His form has not only endeared him to the Al-Hilal faithful but has also reignited talks of a potential return to Nigeria’s Super Eagles fold, with many believing his consistency deserves recognition on the international stage.

Al-Hilal will now look ahead to sterner tests in the next phase of the CECAFA tournament, but with Sunday Adetunji leading the line, optimism runs high in Omdurman.

For now, one thing is clear: goals keep flowing whenever Sunday Adetunji is on the pitch.
